Job description :

Our client, a major player in the production of wet food for dogs and cats, whose products are distributed in over 70 countries, has recently created the position of Business Development Manager for the North American Market. The company stands out for its commitment to social and environmental responsibility, with recipes developed in collaboration with veterinarians to ensure animal well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement growth strategies to achieve business and revenue objectives in North America.
  • Identify and prospect new clients and potential partners (for private label and/or national brands) through direct approaches, networking events, and market opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and business closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop business proposals tailored to client needs and ensure quality delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and competition to adjust strategies and identify differentiation opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring regular follow-up and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare regular reports on business performance, sales forecasts, and market analysis for management.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Previous experience in business development and managing large accounts, preferably in the pet food or agri-food sector (Canada, USA).
  • Proven skills in communication, negotiation, and client relationship management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, results-oriented.
  • Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and management software (ERP, CRM).
