Job description :

Our client is a recognized Canadian distributor of household products, offering a portfolio of renowned brands and serving a diverse range of clients, from specialty retailers to major national chains. The company stands out for its expertise, top-tier customer service, strong family values, and respect for both employees and clients.

We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager, ideally with a background in consumer goods and established relationships with key accounts in Quebec, particularly in the hardware, grocery, and pharmacy sectors. This person will complement a sales team that includes two managers responsible for national accounts based outside Quebec and representatives handling independent retailers within the province.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales of the brand portfolio with assigned key accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the purchasing teams of key accounts.
  • Identify new growth opportunities with key accounts in Quebec.
  • Negotiate programs, promotions, and business opportunities with key accounts.
  • Manage the launch of new products and product lines.
  • Develop annual plans with quantifiable sales objectives based on market opportunities.
  • Prepare business reviews and presentations that highlight development opportunities.
  • Tailor presentations to meet specific client needs.
  • Analyze sales and develop action plans using internal shipping data and point-of-sale data.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service by working closely with internal teams (customer service, operations).
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing department on promotions and product launches.
  • Provide regular reports on the status of key accounts and specific actions required to meet objectives.
  • Participate in trade shows (Toronto, Chicago) to represent the company

Skills and qualifications :

  • University or college degree in business.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in key account management, ideally in household products or consumer goods.
  • Proven experience in growing sales with national accounts in Quebec.
  • Ability to prepare and present product reviews and launch presentations to major accounts.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Able to adapt documents for French-language presentations.
  • Dynamic, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
