Job description :

A Montreal-based company is looking for a research and development engineer in the field of mechanical manufacturing. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for designing, developing and improving mechanical products, processes and systems.

The main responsibilities of the position are:

Design and development:

• Design mechanical products using modeling and simulation software.
• Develop prototypes and test their functionality and performance.

Process optimization:

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Integrate innovative technologies to improve product quality.

New technology research:

• Monitor industry trends and evaluate new technologies applicable to mechanical manufacturing.
• Participate in technology watch and the search for innovative solutions.

Skills and qualifications :

• Technical skills: Proficiency in 3D modeling software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD), knowledge of the principles of materials mechanics and thermodynamics.

• Project management skills: Ability to manage product development projects from design to production launch.
• Education and experience :
• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Previous experience in research and development in the mechanical manufacturing industry.
