Job description :
A consulting engineering firm specializing in structural engineering, with over thirty years of experience. Thanks to the expertise and know-how of its teams, the company has built a solid reputation. We are looking for a Structural Technician-Drafter Coordinator to join the engineering team in Laval.
The future colleague, organized and methodical, will work closely with the engineering team to coordinate various technical aspects related to building construction projects and other structures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare site surveys, studies, and reports.
- Maintain constant and positive relationships with clients.
- Validate workshop drawings.
- Attend site meetings and manage correspondence.
- Monitor projects from the office and conduct occasional site visits.
- Prepare feasibility studies for various projects.
- Coordinate work with the different departments and professionals involved in the projects.
- Supervise and guide the team of drafters.
- Contribute to the development of drawing standards within the discipline.
- Ensure quality control of plans and documents produced by the team, in compliance with internal standards.
- Collaborate with project engineers on the design of small structural elements.
- Plan residential, municipal, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects using AutoCAD or REVIT Structure for 3D modeling.
Skills and qualifications :
- DEP in building drafting, DEC in civil engineering with a "structural" option, or DEC in architecture (5 years of experience)
- Knowledge of BIM (major asset)
- Solid understanding of the Quebec Building Code and the National Building Code of Canada (major asset)
- Holding an ASP card
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
- Proficiency in French (spoken and written)
- Experience in Quebec is required
