Job description :

A consulting engineering firm specializing in structural engineering with over thirty years of experience. Thanks to the team’s expertise and know-how, their reputation is well established. We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer for their Laval office.

The Structural Engineer will design steel, reinforced concrete, and wood structures in compliance with codes and regulations, working closely with the team. They will prepare detailed plans and specifications, as well as technical reports and recommendations following inspections and site surveys.

Responsibilities:

• Design structures of various sizes and budgets
• Analyze and adapt steel, concrete, and wood frameworks for commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial projects
• Ensure compliance of plans with project requirements and building codes
• Oversee the preparation of plans and specifications
• Coordinate ongoing work with project stakeholders
• Conduct surveys of existing installations
• Write technical reports for expert assessments
• Participate in site supervision of construction work

Skills and qualifications :

• Member of the OIQ
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering, with a specialization in structures
• Master’s degree in structures (an asset)
• Experience in the consulting engineering field in Quebec will be considered an asset
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAP, SAFE, Autocad and REVIT software
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written)
• Experience in Quebec is required
