Job description :

We are looking for an Automation Programmer for a plant in Valleyfield.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day support and improvement of programmable logic controllers.

Your tasks will include:

• Programming PLCs and operating interfaces (Rockwell Allen-Bradley and Emerson Delta V)
• Participate in troubleshooting, testing and commissioning
• Participate in system alarm management
• Transfer information to operators and site staff
• Prepare technical documents (functional descriptions of sequences)
• Participate in the administration of process control networks
• Participate in the process of carrying out programming projects
• Technical support for production, quality and maintenance departments

Skills and qualifications :

• DEC or Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering, automation, computer science, software engineering or any relevant experience
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in the automation field
• Relevant experience in development and programming of automated control systems, including operator interface (Allen Bradley and Delta V an asset)
• Available for evening and weekend calls and occasional travel in the U.S.
• Experience in the chemical industry an asset
