Job description :

A mining company located in the Val d'or region is looking for a Manager - Surface Exploration. The incumbent is responsible for managing and planning exploration work on the mining property, as well as overseeing associated budgets. Reporting to the Vice President Exploration, the incumbent is responsible for identifying exploration targets, implementing the best methods and tools for this work, and managing the team's human and financial resources.

Job description:

• Manage the property's mining titles.
• Actively participate in GIT training and program implementation.
• Supervise the execution of field exploration work.
• Monitor the management of surface drilling activities.
• Contribute to the understanding of the geological context of the property.
• Recommend promising drilling targets for future resource expansion.
• Participate in the preparation of budgets and monthly reports.
• Collaborate with other members of the management team to ensure smooth communication.
• Work with management to prepare press releases.
• Perform resource calculations using software.
• The Manager - Surface Exploration manages surface exploration work on the mining property. This includes planning, executing and monitoring activities, while complying with safety and environmental standards. He/she is responsible for implementing and enforcing laws, regulations, standards and procedures specific to mining exploration.

Additional responsibilities:

• Organize drilling campaigns efficiently, including management of contracts, permits, site access, and coordination of field operations.
• Identify the most promising exploration targets based on geophysical surveys, regional mapping and the success of neighboring explorations.
• Ensure that the exploration program complies with environmental and safety standards, in close collaboration with contractors.
• Ensure that the compilation of geological data complies with internal standards.
• Oversee the implementation of drilling, mapping, sampling and labeling procedures, as well as QA/QC and compilation standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
