Job description :

A consulting engineering firm specializing in building mechanical and electrical systems, with over fifty years of experience. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including institutional, heavy residential, and commercial projects. The company stands out for its collaborative culture, where teamwork is emphasized.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Project and Discipline Manager for their Montreal office.

You will be responsible for leading the design and technical application within your project team, managing internal projects, and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders. You will serve as the interface between the team and the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects
  • Serve as the main contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Establish project timelines and monitor budgets
  • Resolve technical issues during the project
  • Ensure compliance with standards and specifications
  • Provide support in preparing service proposals
  • Prepare progress reports and technical documents
  • Visit construction sites to check progress
  • Plan tasks and resources within the discipline
  • Develop and monitor construction budgets
  • Lead the mechanical design team and sign off on technical documents
  • Maintain technical documents, validate calculations, create conceptual diagrams, and select equipment
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and procedures
  • Build relationships with other disciplines and coordinate with clients and stakeholder
  • Participate in coordination meetings and communicate information to the team

Skills and qualifications :

  • Hold an engineering title (OIQ)
  • 5 years of experience in building mechanical engineering design
  • 2 years of project management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (an asset)
  • Knowledge of PMI concepts (an asset)
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written)
  • Experience in Quebec is required
