Job description :

We are looking for a Plant Efficiency Improvement and Technology Change Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and successful execution of various projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the overall success of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and coordinate all phases of the project, from design to delivery.
  • Develop accurate schedules and budgets, and ensure regular monitoring to guarantee compliance with deadlines and costs.
  • Perform detailed engineering of the project according to internal customers and operational facility requirements.
  • Prepare calls for tender, analyze them and select successful suppliers.
  • Identify risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Present projects for approval to internal customers, administration and corporate management.
  • Work planning taking into account the sector's operating activities.
  • Assess health, safety and environmental risks associated with each project before work begins.
  • Supervise project teams, including engineers, technicians and subcontractors, ensuring that everyone has a clear understanding of their responsibilities.
  • Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and resolve potential issues.
  • Ensure rigorous quality control throughout the project, guaranteeing that deliverables meet required performance and safety standards.
  • Report periodically on the performance of projects under his/her responsibility in accordance with corporate or performance requirements.
  • In collaboration with his/her immediate superior, analyze document retention needs and ensure the retention of documents in his/her area of activity.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, automated production engineering.
  • 5 years' experience in engineering project management
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec or CPI
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of standards and regulations for industrial buildings and equipment;
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, Autocad and MS Office Suite
  • Self-motivated
  • Functional bilingualism
