Job description :

A manufacturing company located in Central Quebec is looking for a Quality Manager. Reporting to the vice-president of operations, the Quality Manager develops, implements and maintains a quality vision and strategies for the organization in order to maintain its manufacturing performance and excellent reputation. To this end, he/she develops, structures, implements and maintains a high-performance quality system for all the company's activities.

More specifically, his main responsibilities are to:

  • Build and develop a competent, high-performance quality team.  Supervise the quality team (Quality Manager, Quality Technicians).
  • Develop a strategy for implementing a culture of prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Define a quality roadmap with the implementation of quality management processes and tools aimed at achieving corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of training programs, and ensure that these programs integrate quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and improvement of the quality management system to meet standards and industry requirements.
  • Collaborate with other members of the management team to manage the business and achieve objectives and targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the After-Sales Service teams for customer support, the implementation of performance indicators and processes aimed at the prevention and effective resolution of quality problems.
  • In partnership with the Purchasing group, develop strategies, audits and follow-ups with suppliers to promote the input of parts in compliance with requirements. In the event of deviations, takes the necessary steps to implement appropriate corrective measures on the part of suppliers.
  • Ensures adequate visibility at all levels and smooth communication of deviations and key indicators of the organization's quality system.
  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken by the various sectors concerned in order to continuously improve quality.
  • Draft and update quality policy and coordinate efforts to maintain ISO certification.

Skills and qualifications :

  • University degree, ideally in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management or manufacturing engineering.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing company, including a minimum of 5 years as a team manager.
  • Bilingualism essential (French and English).
