Job description :

Our client is a fast-growing real estate company that is rapidly becoming a major player in the Montreal market, with over 3,000 units in their portfolio. They have doubled in size year on year and have no plans to slow down anytime soon! If you're interested in learning more about real estate and working closely on major projects where your opinion will really count, you've come to the right place.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of accounting information through daily accounting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, invoicing and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage day-to-day cash flow requirements, including daily financing requests and cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare and file GST, PST and RST working papers, returns and remittances.
  • Full cycle accounting for small entities.
  • Participate in annual financial budgeting process.
  • Support annual compliance requirements by preparing annual work papers, financial statements and tax returns.
  • Participate in and lead financial improvement projects, including automation, simplifications and improved controls and documentation.
  • Work in collaboration with the accounting team to ensure continuity of tasks by replacing absent members during their leave.
  • Assist other team members in achieving common goals.
  • Prepare other accounting projects within appropriate deadlines and according to assigned tasks.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA designation or current certification an asset.
  • Experience in commercial real estate operations + CAM reconciliations an asset.
  • Knowledge of HOPEM software is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Bilingual (English and French) required.
