Job description :
The Shipping Clerk reports to the Continuous Improvement Coordinator and is responsible for the day-to-day tasks and document generation associated with shipping the company's products to domestic and international customers. The Shipping Clerk also coordinates and plans the transportation of products to and from customers. He/she will perform the normal shipping tasks required to meet customer demand, but may also be called upon to assist the Shipping and Receiving team in other functions as required.
Responsibilities :
- Monitor health and safety regulations and help identify improvements through observations.
- Ensure that the necessary documents are prepared for domestic and international product shipments.
- Coordinate and monitor the transportation of goods.
- Communicate and collaborate with the foreman to ensure the smooth running of subcontracting processes.
- Plan with other departments to ensure optimal product flow for incoming supplies and outgoing products.
- Ensure that priorities based on product shipment dates are met on time, including follow-up.
- Maintain inventory of finished goods stored in local warehouses.
- Produce photographic evidence of shipment preparation for sales team, if required.
Skills and qualifications :
Education and experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years experience in international shipping;
- Experience with UPS WorldShip and FedEx shipping software.
- Ability to become a Commissioner of Oaths (preferred);
- Bilingualism in French and English (oral and written). The majority of shipment coordination is in the U.S., and drivers generally do not communicate in French.
Requirements:
- Previous shipping experience
- Knowledge of computer tools (Microsoft suite, inventory management software).
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Autonomy, organizational skills and thoroughness.
